Broadwater GP - 29 June 2014

We only had 5 hours today as CL was booked to take two Birding Pals around some local birding sites and their flight was due in at Heathrow just before midday. It's a little while since our last visit here and the rabbits seemed to have been messing about with some of the fixed ties while some unknown perpetrator had plundered the seed bin, fairly recently it seemed since the seed was completely dry, but as a bonus at least the terrain was favourable since DKL is carrying a knee injury that has to be better by August for a fortnight in France. The Stanwell mud doesn't do it any good at all.

We limited the nets to a 60'/40' double with three singles of 50', 60' and 40' and settled down to see how it would go. There were some early Chiffchaffs and the Chaffinches, which had clearly been taking advantage of the seed spillage. A later capture of several Long-tailed Tit with some Blue Tits, Chiffchaffs and a Blackcap seemed to point to birds already starting to band together.
