Stoke Common - 11th July.
After the morning ringing session at Wraysbury I made a visit to Stoke Common as about three weeks ago there had been a report of a single Scarce Blue-tail Damselfly to check the area out. Despite spending some time walking around what might be suitable habitat, but alas none were found. But, an good emergence of Willow Emeralds was ongoing, with at last 25 of various stages of development were found along with a single Emerald Damselfly.

This was a visit to try and see the Golden Ringed Dragonfly again and for White Admirals and possibly any Purple Emperors. Only a single White Admiral of the target species was seen, but there was a good emergence of Common and Ruddy Darters was ongoing, with a couple of Emeralds Damselflies and a Brown Hawker seen, along with the other expected Odonata.

Another fruitless check for any Scarce Blue-tails, but the Willow Emerald Emergence was still ongoing.
