A farm in west Norfolk - 11th May 2023

Rain continues to create difficulties so a chance to get over to check for Lapwing chicks this morning was taken, rather than risk the forecast changing from what we were expecting tomorrow. but despite the recent heavy rain chicks are doing well on a farm managed for wildlife and food production. The thermal imager was invaluable. We had been asked not to go into some specific areas due to other sensitive nesting species, but still managed to find and mark 8 well grown youngsters, to monitor their site fidelity and survival rates.

Ringed under licence of British Trust for Ornithology.

Siblings 11 & 12 ready for release.
