Wraysbury GP - 9th July 2019

A respectable 48 birds captured at this session although the wind was already starting to get up by 9:30am and the last of the six nets was down by 11:30am.

It is clear that the essential new rides around the site edge, created when the cutting and treating of vetch was ongoing, are no longer catching so well, as birds move freely across the entire site, now that the low to mid level cover has recovered.

A retrapped Blackbird, the first reappearance since it was ringed as a juvenile in 2015 was a very nice record, but there were no new retrapped Whitethroat for the RAS.
