Wraysbury GP - 13th July 2019

After making an early morning drop off at Heathrow, we continued to Wraysbury and had four nets up well before 7am. There were a lot of birds near the gate to C6 when we arrived, enough in fact to persuade us to change our plans to net near the stream and opt instead for the rides by the access track.

It turned out to be a good choice. Although two nets produced underwhelming numbers, the other  two did very well, catching several birds on each round as they moved in the direction of the lake.

Whitethroat numbers have increased, leading us to think that
there are now birds present that were bred elsewhere.

One of three juvenile, male, Linnets captured.
