Exactly a month on from our last visit we returned to find the water level still higher than we expected. Quite a lot of fresh growth was emerging from the water all along the ride, but at least there weren't too many reeds falling in from the edges. After some maintenance we got three nets up by the lake, all in the main above water plus one net up the track.
We were pleased with the number of adult Reed Warblers captured although the overall total was lower than we'd have hoped for. There was a nice roost of 60 or so hirundines forming up, but when it came to roost time most went in away from the nets.
Totals: 22 (4)
Sand Martin - 1
Swallow - 1
Robin - 1
Whitethroat - 2
Reed Warbler - 9 (4)
Blackcap - 2
Chiffchaff - 1
Long-tailed Tit - 5
