While the weather is still good we continue to get out as much as possible. That said, we had just got two doubles up when a very heavy shower came through. Not being able to judge what might happen, with it still being dark, we waited in the car for 10 minutes, and with a little more light it looked as though we may be clear after the clouds had blown through. We then put up a 'V' configuration with a ground trap to try for Meadow Pipits. We also set a double at a spot near the river where birds cross into the site.
There were a couple of late migrants, Lesser Whitethroat and Blackcap.
We had a steady stream of birds, Chiffchaffs, including birds with between 3 and 6 fat score, and Meadow Pipit making up a good proportion of the catch. A few good retraps too.
