Stanwell Moor GP - 10th October 2016

We went back to Stanwell again today, intending to do just a few hours. We arrived in time to get the reed bed nets up before it was properly light, but we actually had fewer birds from the first round than the previous day. There was a little less wind than on Sunday and we put the ground trap out for Meadow Pipits up on the mound with a single net behind.

There were new Cetti's Warbler and Reed Bunting with a few Chiffchaffs from the reedbed. The Meadow Pipit tape worked and we caught five of quite a few that were around. Had we put up a full configuration there would definitely have been more.

Finally there were some Long-tailed Tits that came though just as we were about to pack up.

Chris was lucky enough to witness a Buzzard make a half hearted attempt at taking a Little Egret.
