Gedser Fuglestation - 24 October 2015

Back to the dull and windy weather again. Numbers of birds were up in the morning with Grønsisken (Siskin) being the leading species. This was because a small group managed to find their way into one of the double height nets, then began calling, creating the same effect as playing audio lures ( that we are unable to do during standard ringing ). Happily, the calls were entirely natural and resulted in nearly 30 of the charismatic little birds being ringed.

There were 15 species processed today so more of a varied mix than some days where the catch has been heavily dominated by one or two species.
