Shephard Meadow and Butlers Forest 3rd June 2021

Shephard Meadow was primarily visited due to a sighting of a Scarce Chaser on the River Blackwater the previous year, an uncommon species in the area, in fact quite rare. Not unsurprisingly none were seen and the species present was confined to Banded Demoiselles, a lot of which as they took flight were feeding the local population of House Sparrows.

A visit afterwards to Bucklers Forest did not produce any Scarce Blue-tailed Damselflies and apart from Azure and Large Red Damselflies, seven Four-spotted Chasers and nine Broad-bodied Chasers were seen.
