Stanwell Moor GP - 21st September 2020

Decided to make the most of calm before the weather changes mid week. We tried a new strategy for Meadow Pipits, putting three nets around a small stand of trees on the bank with a further four singles for other species. We tried the lure for House Martins that has provided good results and been discussed of late, but over the whole of the morning there was no sign of interest from any hirundines and that net only caught a single Chiffchaff and a retrap Green Woodpecker.

Age 3 Meadow Pipit showing retained juvenile
median coverts longer than the new adult coverts. There is also contrast
in the tertials and first two inner greater coverts have been replaced.
