Stanwell Moor - 6 July 2014

Every now and again we try a morning session at the site. Today we split our efforts between the reedbed and the high field. There was a forecast for wind at 6 to 7mph but as so often happens at Stanwell, it was windier than expected. All the same we set up a configuration for Meadow Pipits with the usual nets by the lake.

We managed five Meadow Pipits.

3J Meadow Pipit

Adult Meadow Pipit with extremely worn plumage.

 Extent of wear on wing

A few Reed Warblers came from the reedbed and we also recaught a Cetti's Warbler that was done just a few days before. A flock of tits came through in the late morning, inflating the figures of a rather slow morning.
